Racha Island is located in the south of Phuket. There are two islands: Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi, they can also be written Raja or Raya. Noi means small and Yai means large.
Racha Yai is the largest of the two as its name suggest. It is located about 30 km in the south of Phuket, it is around 1h30 by boat. The environment is convenient for diving, indeed the currents are low. There is a good visibility from 12 to 30 meters. The depth varies between 6 to 40 meters. More over this island is not affected by massive tourism. The marine wildlife is dense. You can find Tuna, Barracuda and Milk Fish. Horns cancers reside in large numbers. In addition, the island has 4 ship wrecks to explore.
We offer dives in Racha Island all year long and there are several places to dive and explore around the Island such as Lucy’s Reef, “Do little Do” Reef where you can find Stonefish, Batfish and Marla’s mystery, a wreck that has become home to Morays, Groupers, and Lionfish.
Racha Noi is the smallest island. It is more isolated and has no habitation and is more popular for experienced divers because of the currents. The large Northern pinnacle offers multilevel dives where it is common to spot Reef Sharks and Stingray. The Southern part you’ll get on the top of rock formation surrendered by deep water.
