Koh Dok Mai
Koh Dok Mai means Flower Island, it’s named after its underwater beauty and because we can see “flower shape” from an helicopter. Underwater every walls are covered by some soft corals, harps, sea fans, anemones, sponges, and much more, creating an abundance of colorful … Koh Dok Mai Island is composed of limestone and this wall go down to 25 meters in depth. In this dive site, the visibility underwater is correct, from 7 to 25 meters and currents are not too strong.
On the west side of the Island you can find an abundance of colorful hard corals and a dense sea life. It is a good dive site to see reef fish.
On the east side you’ll see an amazing yellow tube coral garden and explore the caves.
Moreover, we offer dives in this area all year long in 2 dive sites around the wall. The island is only at 15 km East of Phuket, it is 1 hour by boat. With a maximum depth of 30 meters, you might see incredible fish, leopard sharks, seahorse, etc …
The big variety of soft and hard corals permit to give habitats to white eye, giant and honeycomb moray eels. In addition to that, one of the main attraction in this area is the two big caves on the East of the Koh Dok Mai. There you can use a torch and discover some amazing fish. Every diving fan will be happy there with crabs, lobsters, pelagic fish, barracudas who’re hunting around. It’s also common to find Bamboo Sharks there, and if you’re lucky you might see a Whale Shark !
